FOREST EDUCATION PROGRAMMING

Over the years Saskatchewan Forestry Association membership and staff have developed a variety of programs, resources and events to encourage better understanding and appreciation of our shared forest resources.

Present programs and activities, and future opportunities have been broken down into categories based on their target audience, and the benefits to the Association and its membership. They include: Member Services, Education-Public and School, Extension Education and Contract Services. Each category incorporates a number of programs and activities. Some are active, while others are still in the conceptual phase.

Programs Include:

Focus On Forests
Kristi Lake Trails
National Forest Week
Envirothon
Friend of the Trees
Tree Trek

Forest Education in Saskatchewan has lots of room to "branch out". The SFA must be responsive to opportunities which may present themselves. Our association will take a pro-active role in the development of new and innovative forest education materials and programming for all ages.
